This certificate shall be signed by the couple and three other witnesses. The certificate of marriage is evidence that the marriage between the two parties; a foreigner and an Indian has been performed under this act with all the required formalities.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Succession to Property:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>When parties of different countries marry in India, succession is ideally governed by Indian laws. It is the Indian Succession Act that determines the rules applicable for deciding succession.
