What Is Compulsory Registration Of Marriages Rule, 2012?

Delhi Compulsory Registration Of Marriage Order, 2014 – As per this order, any couple who has performed their marriage in Delhi & either one or both of them are Indian citizens – must have to register their marriage in court irrespective of caste, religion, or gender.

Both the partners must have to register their marriages within 60 days. You have to fix the date with the marriage officer & both the partners have to visit the office with the complete documents, duly filled Form-A & witnesses.

In order to get the marriage certificate from the court, you have to register your marriage in court. You have to provide some mandatory documents for the registration of marriage in court. 

All these documents must be submitted by each of the bride & groom – 

  1. Identity Proof – Aadhar Card / PAN Card / Voter ID / Ration Card / Driving License / Passport
  2. Birth Proof – Certificate of Birth or, Class 10 Document
  3. Address Proof – Aadhar Card / Certified Address Proof / Rent Agreement / Electricity Bill / Household Gas Bill / Bank Passbook / Passport / Driving License

All these documents must be submitted by the witnesses –
