IPC Section 100 - When the right of private defence of the body extends to causing death
Anyone has the right of self-defence to kill or the assailant in the following situations:
1) An attack that causes a reasonable apprehension that death would otherwise occur the result of such an attack.
2) An attack that is reasonably expected to cause grievous hurt otherwise, result in such attack.
3) Assault with intent to commit rape.
4) Assault with intent to satisfy unnatural lust.
5) Abduction or assault with intent to abduct.
6) Assault with intent to wrongfully confine any person, in circumstances which he may reasonably have the apprehension that he will be unable to resort to public authorities for his release.
7) The act of throwing or giving acid or throwing or attempting to pour acid which may reasonably cause the apprehension that such act would otherwise result in.
