I lost cheque on 16-05-2014 and registered stop payment instructions on the same day with my bank. That cheque presented on 16-10-2016 and returned with remarks insufficient of funds. Filed a cheque bounce case. Branch manager deposed that the cheque is stopped. What will be the effects?
The court might dismiss the case based on the evidence of the stop payment instruction and the long delay in presenting the cheque. This is a potential outcome based on information provided. Contact us on our helpline to Consult a lawyer specialising in negotiable instruments.
