I am the plaintiff (appearing as a party-in-person) in a quasi-judicial body hearing. My examination-in-chief was conducted without proper intimation, and I was unprepared during the previous hearing. My cross-examination has not yet taken place. I would like to add a few more points to my chief examination. Can I request that my examination-in-chief be re-conducted due to the lack of proper intimation, or is there another way to add additional points before my cross-examination?
You can file a written application before the quasi-judicial authority requesting that your examination-in-chief be re-recorded, citing that it was conducted without proper notice. Alternatively, you can seek permission to submit additional written statements or clarifications before your cross-examination. Courts and tribunals often allow this if you show genuine reasons and no prejudice to the other party. For further legal assistance contact us on our helpline number.
