What is the legal action against not returning money?

We have given approx. 9 lakhs to one of our acquaintances for business. Its been 2 years he is not returning the money. Unfortunately we do not have proofs of money given to him as the transactions were in cash. but have messages and videos from him discussing about it. Can we take any legal action against him
