Hello Sir/Madam, I belong to the Open category, and my partner is OBC. We both want to get married, but my family is against it, while his parents support us. Recently, I ran away from home as I didn’t want to stay with my family, but my father brought me back. Currently, I’m not allowed to leave the house, but we both wish to get married and seek police protection. Is there any way I can be present in court only at the time of marriage?
You are an adult, so legally you can marry anyone of your choice under the Special Marriage Act, 1954. If your family is restricting you, you can approach the nearest police station for protection. The court can provide security during your marriage, and you need to be physically present only at the time of solemnization. For further legal assistance contact us on our helpline number.
