When you think of court marriage procedure, there are some things that law has said to keep in mind so that the marriage can take place without any issues. Couples who tend to opt-out for the traditional method and go for court marriage need to keep following things in mind: 

1. Both the individuals must be adults and have the required age, which is for Bride 18 years and above and for the Groom 21 years and above otherwise, marriage will not be considered legal and it cannot happen through the court procedures.

3. Residential proof of both the parties Adhar card, Voter ID, ration card or driver's license.
4. Divorce papers in case of Divorce or death certificate in case of death of the spouse.

  B) For the Witnesses 

1. Passport size photos 
2. PAN Card
3. for the identification of the person any proof driver's license, Adhar card, Voter ID. 

C)  For the Foreign Residents

1. If you are a foreign resident and want to get married through the court you also need to have the documents mentioned above. 
2. For the non-resident of Indian, a NOC from the embassy is required.

Opting for the court marriage in India, you should know the procedure stated as follows: 

1. Notice of the intended marriage - when you want to get married through the court you need to send out the notice before 30 days of your marriage. Under section 5 of the act. Notice is required to be sent to the marriage deputy to notify the concerned authority. 
2. Publication of the marriage - before marriage the couple needs to publish that they are marrying so that it gets public. 
3. Objection to marriage- if anyone who sees the notice and has any objection to the marriage can object the marriage to the marriage officer. 
4. Declarations by the parties- both parties need to sign the declarations in the presence of a marriage officer. 
5. Under section 12 the court marriage will take place with the presence of a marriage officer and the witnesses. 
6. After the certificate is signed by the marriage officer under the specified schedule of the marriage act.
