My child was born in Mumbai at my mother’s house, but my in-laws live in Uttar Pradesh. What should be my child’s permanent address? I want to apply for his birth certificate — should I apply in Mumbai or UP? Are there any differences, pros, or cons of doing the process in Mumbai?
You should apply for your child’s birth certificate in the place where the birth occurred (Mumbai in this case). However, you can apply in Uttar Pradesh if that’s your child’s permanent address. There’s no major difference, but registering in the place of birth is usually simpler. For further legal assistance contact us on our helpline number.
