IPC Section 51 - Meaning of "Oath" In IPC

IPC Section 51 states that - the term "OATH" represents -

a) a deliberate affirmation exchanged by law for an oath, 
b) any declaration required or authorized by law to be made before a public servant or 
c) to be used for proof in a Court of Justice
