What to do if cheque bounced case filed against me?
A friend filed a cheque bounce case (138 NI Act) and IPC 420 (cheating) against me. I had given him a cheque that bounced due to no funds. What should I do?

Attend court as per summons. Try to settle the dues if possible. 138 NI Act is a bailable offence, but IPC 420 is serious, so take it seriously. You can argue that there was no fraudulent intention. Consult a criminal lawyer to apply for bail and prepare your defense. For further legal assistance contact us on our helpline number.
