Can an SI settle a land dispute instead of court?
An SI called my dad and spoke rudely and called him to the station to resolve a land dispute which is present between my dad and his brother. And he wanted to settle it down in the station and instead of court. If he is permitted to do that, how can proceed further?
A police can only intervene if the land dispute escalates to violence or if a criminal offense occurs, and they cannot decide the title dispute over the property. You can proceed to the civil court for the resolution of your land dispute.
Sir, the SI do not have authority to resolve the land dispute in police station and if the SI is performing unprofessional behavior you may consider filing a complaint with the help of an expert lawyer who will assist you in understanding your rights.
