As per Section 12 of the Hindu Adoption and Maintenance Act, 1956, an adopted child is considered the child of his adoptive father and mother for all purposes with effect from the date of adoption, so in this case, the child of the relative who has been adopted has lost all his rights in his biological father's property from the date they adopted it.
