I married a Hindu woman, Y, and though we've been married for a year, we have not lived together. I live in Kerala, and she resides in Mumbai, where our marriage was registered. Both of us have agreed to pursue a mutual consent divorce, but her lawyer insists that the petition must be filed in Mumbai. However, I am concerned about my safety if I travel to Mumbai due to threats from her powerful family. Additionally, I am relocating to Dubai next month, which will complicate travel for the divorce proceedings. I would like to know if the petition can be filed in Kerala instead.
