What does uncontested divorce mean?

Hi, my spouse has filed for divorce in Washington State. We are both Indian citizens, married in India in 2020, and currently on H1B (myself) and F1 (spouse) visas. I'm unsure if she has a job. There are no kids or property involved. Questions for you: I have read that only uncontested divorces from foreign countries are valid in India. What does an uncontested divorce mean? I’ve disagreed with a few things in the petition, such as the marriage separation date and who should pay the lawyer fees. Does this make my case contested? What do I need to do to keep the divorce uncontested and close it quickly, so it remains valid in India? What should I include in the separation agreement to avoid exposure to another lawsuit in India?

An uncontested divorce occurs when both parties agree on all terms, including financial arrangements, asset division, and responsibilities. If disagreements arise, the divorce becomes contested. To keep it uncontested, consider resolving disputes through mediation or negotiation. Draft a clear separation agreement to address these issues, ensuring both parties are in agreement to avoid future conflicts or legal complications.
