Will mother’s name variation affect passport?

On my SSC and graduation marksheets, my mother’s name appears in two different formats—only her first name on some documents, and her full name on others. In such a situation, can I make a Gazette declaration stating that both the first name and the full name belong to the same person? Or do I have to state that one name is correct and the other is incorrect? I do not want to say that any name is incorrect, because both refer to the same person and the difference is only between first name and full name. If I make such a Gazette declaration, will my mother’s name be officially changed because of it? Will she face any legal or practical issues due to this? I need clarity particularly for passport purposes, because on my mother’s own official documents, her full name is mentioned, while on my SSC, HSC, and Leaving Certificate only her first name is mentioned, and on my degree documents her full name is mentioned. Therefore, I am confused about which version of her name I should use for passport purposes—only the first name or the full name. Also, what documents should I submit to establish that both names refer to the same person?

Dear client, Well, you can make an affidavit / Gazette declaration that your mother's first name and full name belong to the same person. You do not need to declare one name to be "wrong" if both refer to the same person. This won't officially change the name of your mother if you make it clear that it is only a clarification of the name. For purposes of passports and future records, however, it is safer to use your mother's full name as per her own official documents. Keep with your mother's Aadhaar/PAN/passport, your birth proof (if available), school and degree certificates of education, and notarized affidavit for establishing identity.
