Will certificate name mismatch affect government job document verification?

My name is Rishabh Gupta, and it is correctly mentioned in all my documents like Class 10th certificate, graduation degree, PAN card, and Aadhaar card. My mother's name is also correctly mentioned as Shubha Gupta. However, in my Class 12th certificate, my name is written as "Gupta Rishabh" and my mother's name as only "Shubha." I have applied for various government jobs. Will this discrepancy cause a problem during document verification? Neither I nor my mother has ever changed our names. The board refuses to correct the certificate, saying this is their naming format. I have already completed an affidavit and published a newspaper notification. Do I still need a gazette notification, even though there was no name change?

Since your name and your mother's name are slightly different in the 12th certificate, it may raise questions during document verification. But because you have done an affidavit and newspaper publication, it should usually be enough. A gazette notification is optional, but recommended for stronger legal clarity in government jobs. For further legal assistance contact us son our helpline number.
