Inter-religion court marriage is performed under the Special Marriage Act, 1954. First, both parties must give a written notice to the Marriage Officer in the district where at least one has lived for 30 days. The notice is displayed publicly for 30 days to invite objections. If no valid objection is received, the marriage is solemnized. Both partners and three witnesses sign before the officer, and the Marriage Certificate is issued legally.
