Can association stop event despite rules allowing speaker usage?
Our apartment association is denying permission for a singing and poetry event at the amphitheatre using speakers, citing noise complaints from residents. However, their guidelines permit speaker use until 9:30 PM, and we plan to end by 7:30 PM. They have shown no official complaints, just WhatsApp messages. The bylaws don’t restrict such events. Is there any civil law under which we can question this?
You can question the association's decision legally since you're following their timing rules and there's no official complaint or bylaw violation. You may send a written request or legal notice asking them to clarify their decision, and if needed, file a complaint before the Registrar of Societies or approach civil court for misuse of authority.
