Section 6 of the IPC states that - every law, provision, the definition of offence & punishment should be understood with the exceptions mentioned under Chapter IV (General Exceptions) of the Indian Penal Code.
These exceptions are not repeated everywhere rather, it is mentioned separately in chapter IV.
