. Dear client, in this case you are not required to deal with recovery agents. RBI guidelines say they cannot harass or threaten you. You can file a complaint with the bank/NBFC and if needed, escalate to the RBI Ombudsmen for better resolution. For threats or abuse you can file a police complaint. For the settlement of this, communicate with the lender directly in writing or through a lawyer to avoid dealing with the recovery agents. May this help and if you have any further issues do not hesitate to contact us.

Dear client, If you wish to settle the matter in a legal way, firstly ask the lender/bank/NBFC for a written settlement statement outlining the total outstanding amount, interest and charges and finally the final settlement amount (in a written statement). Do not limit yourself to calls from recovery agents. Send your request by email/letter and ask for an official letter of settlement on the company letterhead. If recovery agents harass and make threats you may make a complaint to the bank/NBFC grievance cell and in regulated cases you can rely upon RBI's Fair Practices Code / recovery conduct rules. After you pay, always obtain a No Dues Certificate / closure letter. If you have any query please feel free to contact us.
