Can I sue service center for delay and extra charges?
On 9th October 2023, my mobile screen was replaced free of cost under warranty. By 14th October, the website tracking system showed that the mobile had been fully repaired. On 17th October, I visited the service center to collect the phone, but they informed me it wasn’t ready and asked me to return after two days. On 18th October, I missed three important educational assignments and suffered other losses due to not having access to my phone. On 19th October, I called the service center again, but they still refused to give me the phone. Eventually, on 28th October, I received the phone, but they asked me to pay ₹413 for the service, even though no such charges were mentioned at the time of submission. Can I file a case against the company or service center under these circumstances?
You can file a consumer complaint against the service center for unfair trade practice and mental harassment. Since no cost was mentioned earlier, asking for payment later is unjust. File a complaint with the District Consumer Forum or online at https://edaakhil.nic.in with proof like service receipts and call records.
