What legal options exist if a relative refuses to repay loan?

I lent Rs. 15 Lacs (without interest) to my relative for 6 months via bank transfer and documented it with a notarized agreement. Now, he has no intention of repaying. Is there any provision to get his immovable property attached? My lawyer has prepared a petition under sections 20, 34, and 38 of the Specific Relief Act. Will it work?

You can pursue legal action under the Specific Relief Act to recover your money. However, getting his immovable property attached will depend on proving that the loan agreement is enforceable. Discuss with your lawyer to ensure the petition under Sections 20, 34, and 38 is valid and effective. For further legal assistance contact us on our helpline number
