What legal remedy do I have for recovering my loan?

I gave Rs. 15 Lakhs to my relative for 6 months via bank transfer, and the transaction is documented with a notarized agreement. Now, he has no intention to repay. Could you, respected lawyers, kindly let me know what remedy I have to get my money back? Is there any provision to get his immovable property attached? My lawyer has prepared a petition under sections 20, 34, and 38 of the Specific Relief Act. Is it going to work?

You can file a civil suit for recovery of the money, and your lawyer can proceed under the provisions of the Indian Contract Act. The petition under sections 20, 34, and 38 of the Specific Relief Act is appropriate for specific performance. You may also seek attachment of his immovable property if the court grants it.
