How to correct father’s PAN card name and details mismatch?

My father’s name, as per the recent Aadhaar update, is Bhokna Kerketta, and there is no mention of his father’s name in the Aadhaar. My father’s PAN card records his name as “Bhokna, son of Sukur.” I want to correct my father’s PAN card to “Bhokna Kerketta, son of Late Sukra Kerketta.” Late Sukra Kerketta did not have an Aadhaar card, PAN card, or death certificate. Please advise.

Dear Client, Thank you for reaching out. If your PAN card contains a name mismatch or incorrect details, the correction process is straightforward. You may visit the NSDL or UTIITSL portal and submit a PAN correction request under "Changes or Correction in PAN Data." Enter the correct information, attach relevant supporting documents such as Aadhaar, birth certificate, or passport, and pay the prescribed fee. Alternatively, visit the nearest PAN Service Centre to submit the correction form in person with self-attested documents. Corrections are typically processed within 15 to 20 working days. We recommend keeping copies of all submitted documents for your records. For further guidance on document selection or the correction process, contact Prime Legal.

You can apply for correction in PAN through Income Tax Department PAN Services. Since your grandfather has no official documents, submit a notarized affidavit and any family or government record proving the correct name. Ensure consistency with Aadhaar and other records. If documents are insufficient, the PAN correction may be verified or rejected by authorities. For further legal assistance contact us on our helpline number.
