What can I do if ex-wife refuses property release?

In July 2014, I registered a property in Bhopal, MP using my gratuity funds from a company in Dubai. I registered it jointly in my and my ex-wife’s name. After our mutual divorce in September 2022, she verbally agreed to sign a relinquishment deed, but now she is refusing. I only have proof that the funds came from my company. What legal options do I have?

You can file a civil suit for declaration of ownership and claim sole rights, presenting evidence that the funds came from your gratuity. Even though the property is in joint name, financial contribution matters. Since there is no written release, the court can decide based on documents and intent at the time of purchase.
