What is the mandatory registration fee for auctioned property in Kerala?

I purchased land in Kerala at a public auction conducted by the Tahsildar in a revenue recovery case. Afterward, I received a sale certificate signed and sealed by the Sub-Collector. I wish to register the sale certificate at the Sub-Registrar’s office in my area. Is the 2% registration fee still mandatory for this?

Yes, a 2% registration fee is mandatory when registering a property in India, unless there are specific exemptions in the local jurisdiction. You need to pay the applicable fee at the Sub-Registrar’s office along with submitting your sale certificate and other necessary documents for registration. Always check with local authorities for specific requirements. For further legal assistance contact us on our helpline number.
