Having your surname added through a Gazette notification should suffice for name consistency. To avoid issues when applying to foreign universities or for a visa, attach a copy of the Gazette notification along with your CBSE marksheet and any other documents showing the updated name. If required, you can also include an affidavit explaining the name change for additional clarity.

Firstly, you should file an Affidavit in your district court in accordance with changing your name, then all the changes in name, etc. which you need to be changed shall be printed in two famous newspapers circulated in your state, later you must take all the changes in name to be printed in Government Gazette. At last you are supposed to submit this document printed in Gazette to all concerned wherein name has to be changed.

Contact the CBSE board through their official website or regional office to inquire about the procedure for updating your name on your marksheet. If updating your marksheet is not feasible, consider attaching a notarized affidavit or letter explaining the discrepancy between your names. Contact us on our helpline number for further details.
