Will mismatch name in documents cause government verification issues?

All my documents have my father's name spelled as "Shaukeen", but his Aadhaar and other documents show "Shokeen" (correct spelling). I have a central government document verification soon. Will this mismatch cause a problem for me? What is the correct way to resolve this name mismatch? Some selected candidates advised me not to disclose this mismatch, claiming authorities won’t verify it with Aadhaar. But I am afraid hiding it might later be treated as suppression of facts. What is your legal opinion on this? If I publish a correction in the Gazette, do I need to update all documents too, or is Gazette publication alone sufficient?

Minor spelling differences in your father’s name usually do not create serious problems if other details match. However, getting a Gazette notification published is the safest step. You do not need to update all documents if you carry the Gazette copy during verification, it legally supports the correction. Always disclose the truth to avoid future issues.
