How to perform marriage with a foreigner?

I want to marry a foreigner. I am from Odisha, but I currently live with him in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh. Will it be possible for me to register our marriage in Uttar Pradesh instead of Odisha due to certain reasons?

Yes, you can legally register your marriage in Uttar Pradesh (Greater Noida) even if you are originally from Odisha. Under the Special Marriage Act, 1954, you can give a notice of intended marriage to the Marriage Officer in the district where either of you has lived for at least 30 days. After submitting the notice, there is a 30-day waiting period for objections. If no valid objection is raised, the marriage will be solemnized before the Marriage Officer with witnesses, and a valid marriage certificate will be issued.
