How to proceed if Tehsildar denies legal heir notice?
My mother’s name was on a 7/12 extract for land. She passed away in a different Mumbai suburb than the one I live in. The Tehsildar for the land refuses to send a query to my area, saying they can only send notices where the death occurred. How should I proceed?

If the Tehsildar refuses to send the notice to your current area, you can request a Death Certificate endorsement from your local municipal office and file a mutation application yourself.
