Can my marriage be registered twice if not living together?

I did a court marriage in 2022, but we are not living together because I am preparing for government exams and am currently unemployed. My partner's parents are looking for a boy for their daughter's marriage. If they get her married and later think about registering the marriage, is it possible to have dual court marriage registration, as the first one was done in my name?

Once a marriage is registered, it is legally valid. If your partner’s family registers a second marriage after you have already been married, this could lead to legal complications, such as bigamy. You may seek legal advice to prevent this and protect your rights regarding marriage registration. For further legal assistance contact us on our helpline number.
