For an application for court marriage in India, a Notice of Intended Marriage has to be given at least 30 days prior to the proposed date. The notice is also put on public display for 30 days so that anyone who objects to the marriage may do so. Hence, it would be advisable to apply one month in advance so that all the necessary documents are ready and this notice period is incorporated. It generally takes 30 to 60 days for the whole court marriage procedure, depending upon the objections raised against it and the efficiency of the local marriage registrar's office.
