Is parental approval required for Special Marriage Act?

For the Special Marriage Act, is parental approval required? What kind of approval is needed? Will notice be sent to both parents, or do they need to sign in court? Also, the bride is from Vijayawada, AP, and the groom is from Nalgonda, Telangana. We want to marry in Hyderabad. Is this allowed?

Under the Special Marriage Act, parental approval is not required if both parties are adults (21 for men, 18 for women). The notice is posted publicly at the registrar's office, not sent to parents. The marriage can be registered in Hyderabad, even though the bride is from Vijayawada (AP) and the groom from Nalgonda (Telangana), as long as both parties agree.
