What to do after criminal case filed against elopement case?

Hello sir, namaste. Our name is Hafizul Ali, and we are residents of Silchar, Cachar (Assam). I am in love with a girl named Mamon Mal, and she loves me very much too. We have been in a relationship for about 5-6 years. On 12th August last year, we both eloped. Later, I was arrested after the girl's family filed a criminal case against me under IPC 366. The girl testified in court that she went with me willingly and wanted to stay with me, and she did not want to return home. However, the session court handed her back to her family. The girl is 22 years old now. What should I do? Can we file a case against her family? Please help.

Since the girl has given a statement in court expressing her consent, you have a chance to challenge the family’s actions. You can seek legal help to appeal the court's decision, and potentially file a case for wrongful confinement or any other related offense, depending on the circumstances.
