Can US citizen marry an Indian under Special Marriage Act?

I am a US citizen, Hindu, and an OCI holder, and the bride is an Indian citizen, Hindu. Can we get a marriage certificate under the Special Marriage Act within a few days? I have received conflicting information that the Special Marriage Act requires a 30-day notice period. I am open to a temple marriage but need the certificate under the Special Marriage Act.

Sir, under the Special Marriage Act you cannot get a marriage certificate within a few days due to the 30-day notice period. Both parties must submit a Notice of Intended Marriage, which is displayed for 30 days to allow objections. After this, the marriage can be registered. If you opt for a temple marriage, it would not be legally valid without registration under the Special Marriage Act. Consulting a lawyer can help streamline the process.
