Dear Client, Yes, the Madras High Court provides an e-filing facility. Whether you can file a writ petition completely online as a party-in-person will depend on the applicable e-filing rules and registration requirements of the High Court. If online filing is not available for your case, you may have to file the petition physically. Hope this helps. Please feel free to reach out to us if you have any further queries or need assistance.

Dear Client, Yes, a Writ Petition can indeed be filed in the Madras High Court through e-filing, using https://filing.ecourts.gov.in , even if you are filing as a party in person. You would upload the scanned petition copies, then pay the court fees online, and after that you should receive a filing number. Still, note that later on, for the actual hearings, a physical appearance might be asked. Please also make sure the documents are in a proper format, properly signed and attached with an affidavit, because that part matters a lot. If you need some handholding with the technical steps, the e-filing help desk at the High Court can assist you with instructions. Thank you for reaching out to Prime Legal.

The Madras High Court permits e-filing of cases through its authorized e-filing system, subject to the applicable rules and technical requirements. A party-in-person may generally file a writ petition electronically if the portal and court rules allow such filing. However, certain documents, affidavits, identity verification requirements, or physical submissions may still be required. Before filing, carefully check the current Madras High Court e-filing guidelines and party-in-person requirements. If the petition is urgent, you may also contact the High Court Filing Section for procedural clarification. For further legal assistance contact us on our helpline number.
