Can non-Goan Hindus have valid prenuptial agreement in Goa?

I understand that prenuptial agreements are not generally valid in India, except in Goa. Are these agreements only for Goan residents? Can a non-resident Hindu couple of the same caste get legally married in Goa with a valid prenuptial agreement? Also, can a prenup based on foreign law be valid in India?

Prenuptial agreements aren't legally enforceable in most of India except Goa, where personal laws allow it. Non-Goan couples can marry in Goa, but enforceability may still be challenged. A foreign prenup might hold value abroad, but Indian courts may not honor it unless both parties freely consented and it’s fair. For further legal assistance contact us on our helpline number.
