Sir, I’m pregnant, but my husband doesn’t want the child. I don’t want to live with him anymore. He is demanding a DNA test, which I don’t want to give. He also beats me and has thrown me out of the house. How can I file a case against him?

You can file a domestic violence case under the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act. The DNA test can’t be forced unless ordered by a court. Approach the nearest women’s police station or legal aid center to file complaints for assault, eviction, and mental harassment. You also have the right to shelter and maintenance.
