Is cultural marriage necessary for court marriage in Jammu?
I am planning to do a court marriage in Jammu and got to know that proper cultural procedures need to be performed before getting the marriage certificate. However, I want to keep it short and do a normal court marriage. Is it necessary to perform a cultural marriage to get the marriage certificate? I don’t want to do even an Arya Samaj ceremony. I was under the impression that a court marriage can be done under the Special Marriage Act, but I am being denied by Jammu lawyers. Is there an opportunity to get the court marriage done without the cultural procedures? Both of us are from the same religion. I prefer email communication over calls. Thanks.
For a court marriage in Jammu, the cultural procedure is not mandatory under the Special Marriage Act. You can perform a simple court marriage, but the process might differ slightly depending on local practices. Ensure you follow the Special Marriage Act procedures and get legal advice for clarity.
