Is it necessary to pat maintenance?

My net pay per month is ₹55,000, and my wife’s net pay per month is ₹40,000. We have been living separately for about 1.5 years now and have one daughter who is studying in 2nd grade. I gave my wife ₹8 lakh on her demand to stay as a family (myself, my wife, and our daughter), but she went to her parents' home after 3 months, citing a quarrel. She has now filed an FIR for divorce under Section 10(x) of the Indian Divorce Act, 1869, and resides at her parents' home without paying rent. I live in a rented home with a monthly rent of ₹13,000 (the house we last resided in together). Will I have to pay one-time alimony, and will the ₹8 lakh paid for living together as a family be adjusted in the child maintenance?

Sir, you may be liable to pay alimony, but it depends on the court's assessment of your financial situation, your wife’s needs, and the duration of the marriage. As for the ₹8 lakh, it may not directly adjust in child maintenance but could be considered in the overall financial settlement.
