How can we address unfair treatment and harassment in a temple?

Yesterday, I went to a temple to worship Lord Shiva during Sawan. While pouring milk on Lord Shiva, I made the "ulu" sound (a tongue sound performed as part of rituals that every Bengali does). He got angry, and I immediately stopped the rituals. He then asked me to complete everything quickly, which was impossible, as he said there were more people in line. However, only two people were waiting, and we had already waited for at least 15 minutes while the priest’s family offered their prayers. When it was our turn, he started shouting at us to hurry. Afterward, my husband went to each section to fold his hands before the god, but the priest shouted at him for not entering, even though his family and other people were allowed in. It felt like we were treated unfairly and harassed because we are Bengali. I feel this was community harassment.
