Active euthanasia, which refers to the intentional act of killing a person to relieve suffering (for example, performing lethal injection), is illegal in India. Passive euthanasia, on the other hand, is legal only in the case of terminally ill persons, or those in a permanent vegetative state, as certified by a medical board according to the prescribed procedure. But active euthanasia remains prohibited because it contravenes Indian laws like Section 302 [Section 109 in BNS] (punishment for murder) and Section 309 (attempt to commit suicide) of the Indian Penal Code.

Sir, in India active euthanasia is not legal but you can approach different countries where it is legal. It is advised to consult an expert lawyer who will assist you with the best course of action. For further legal assistance contact us on our helpline number.
