Police seized bike, overcharged fine—what should I do?

My bike was seized by the police because I was not carrying a driver’s license at the time. However, I have all other valid documents. The police are demanding an excessive fine. What can I do legally in this situation?

If your bike was seized only due to not carrying a driving license, you can pay the official fine at the RTO or traffic court. Do not pay excess or illegal amounts. You have the right to get a proper challan and receipt. File a complaint if police are demanding extra money. For further legal assistance contact us on our helpline number.
