What if I get a court summon?

Is it necessary to obtain bail in criminal cases such as IPC Sections 263, 265, 504, 506, etc., upon receiving a court summons? What is the time limit for securing bail from the court? If the accused person’s name, age, and address are mentioned incorrectly in the summons, is that person still required to appear in court and obtain bail?

Even with errors, it’s better to appear or send your lawyer. Inform the judge about the mistake, and the court will correct it. Ignoring the summon may lead to a warrant. Apply for bail if needed and clarify identity in court records. For further legal assistance contact us on our helpline number.
