What to do if earlier buyer now claims property rights?
My grandfather took ₹8 lakhs from someone in 2018 who said he would soon buy our ₹30 lakh plot. He kept making excuses. In 2023, we sold the plot to someone else. Now, they’re contacting us.

If there was no registered agreement to sell, and no legal claim was filed by them before the sale, you are not legally bound to them. Return the borrowed ₹8 lakhs if documented as a loan, not advance. If it is vague, consult a civil lawyer to defend your side. For further legal assistance contact us on our helpline number.
