Why did bank deduct credit dues from my current account?

Can a bank in India debit partial outstanding dues of a credit card from the cardholder’s current account, especially when the outstanding amount is under dispute? The dispute has already been raised with the bank through their Grievances Redressal Cell prior to this action.

The bank cannot debit any amount from your current account without your consent, especially when a dispute exists. If you’ve raised a grievance, the bank should resolve it before taking any action. You may file a complaint with the Banking Ombudsman or take legal action for unfair practices if the bank proceeds without addressing the dispute.
