What happens if I cannot fulfill a mediation agreement?

I’m unable to fulfill two mediation agreements due on Nov 30, each for Rs. 2.5 lakh. I’m a single mother with two children in school, and I left my husband in October 2020. He took loans in my name, and I was a signatory at his request. I’m struggling financially with no assets, relying on family help.

If you are unable to fulfill the mediation agreements, inform the mediator or the court. Given your financial situation, you can request for an extension or renegotiation of the payment terms. You may also seek legal aid to explain your case and prevent any legal consequences. Consider discussing with a lawyer about debt relief options.
