Why is it possible to set aside an arbitration award?
My arbitration case started in 1987, and the award was declared in 2000. However, I did not receive the arbitration award until February 12, 2024, when I obtained a copy through RTI. Is it possible to set aside this arbitration award under Section 34(1)?
Since the arbitration award was declared in 2000 and you only received it in 2024, you may be able to challenge it under Section 34(1) of the Arbitration Act. However, this provision has a time limit for filing an application. You should consult with a lawyer to assess the viability of challenging the award.
