Can incorrect OBC-NCL certificate may affect job during verification process?
Sir, I am from Haryana, where we have a Family ID that contains all family details, including income. My father is a Group C employee, and his income is above ₹8 lakh, but in the Family ID, it shows ₹8 lakh. I do not know how that gets updated. Based on this, I applied for an OBC-NCL certificate. In the online form, it was clearly mentioned to provide income from the last three financial years, excluding salary and agriculture income. However, without checking the ITR, I filled in the income approximately, thinking it might be asking for salary income. I still got the OBC certificate, and based on that, I got a government job. Now I am confused whether I should join or not, because during background verification there may be a mismatch, and I could be removed from the job. Please advise what I should do.
If OBC-NCL certificate was issued on incorrect or estimated income details, it may create risk during document verification. If there is any mismatch with eligibility rules, authority can cancel certificate and even job offer. You should immediately consult a service or caste certificate lawyer, verify your actual eligibility, and if needed, voluntarily correct or withdraw the certificate to avoid future legal action.
